Asus Chromebox 3

Asus’s Chromebox 3 looks like mac mini and Intel 8 gen processors

In CES 2018, Asus has announced the latest version of its small Chromebox, the Chromebox 3. And while normally, I would not expect too much from a 4.5 x 4.5-inch desktop computer that will only run Chrome OS. Asus deserves some credit for including both a USB-C port and Intel’s latest 8th-gen Core processors. It is something that puts it ahead of plenty of full-fledged Windows computers.

Asus has not announced the full specifications for the Chromebox 3. But it does highlight that the Chromebox 3 supports dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Gigabit LAN. Which the company says should be enough to support 4K streaming. Like any other Chromeboxes, it was probably meant to be more of an enterprise or education device. But it was nice to see that Asus is keeping its hardware updated with the newest ports and specifications.

The Chromebox 3 is set to be released sometime in the 1st half of 2018, but the exact price or release date is not announced.
