The free preview version of Microsoft Quantum Development Kit was released today. Who want to start on a quantum computer train early can now start with the Microsoft Quantum Development Kit The kit. It was announced 1st in Sep at the Microsoft’s Ignite conference. Includes the programming language Q#, a quantum computing simulator simulate 30 logical qubits of power. And a companion collection of documentation, sample programs and libraries that will help developers get a higher foothold on the complex science behind quantum computing.

Developers can access the test programs and debug code with their own computer, the simulator will allow. Since there do not have any quantum computers for them to test their work on yet, which is necessary. Microsoft is also giving a more powerful simulator. Through its Azure cloud computing service, one with over 40 logical qubits of computing power. And because the kit is integrated into Microsoft’s Visual Studio developer tool suite. The new kit will be familiar with many features.

“What you are going to see as a developer is the opportunity to tie into tools that you already know well. Services you already know well.” Microsoft’s VP Todd Holmdahl in charge of its quantum effort, announced in a statement. “There are a twist with quantum computing, but it’s our job to make it as easy as possible for the developers who know and love us to be able to use these. New tools that could potentially do some things exponentially quicker.  Which means going from a billion years on a classical computer to a couple hours on a quantum computer.”
