T-Mobile is making another branded budget Smartphone referred to as the Revvl plus as a sequel to the Revvl, that the carrier launched in August.
Some of the Revvl plus remains the same because of the original Revvl: it sports the same 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. just like the 1st Revvl, the plus features a fingerprint sensor and runs android nougat.
But the Revvl plus boasts a slightly bigger 3,380mAh battery, six-inch screen, and a higher price tag at $200 up front (or $9 a month for 18 months) through T-Mobile’s jump on Demand service. Its processor has also been bumped up to a 2.0GHz octa-core and it currently has dual rear 13MP and 5MP cameras.
It is value noting that T-Mobile has tough competition when it involves making budget smartphones. Lenovo’s Moto E4 only prices $179 and features a 5,000mAh battery and a Snapdragon 427 quad-core processor. Then there’s the Moto G5 plus, with a 32GB model that goes for $184.99 and features a Snapdragon 625 processor, that is an upgrade.
For its part, T-Mobile released a rock music-infused unboxing video for the Revvl plus that appears to position the phone as a badass country legend, straight out of a hot pink box. It’s a little more than a phone with a 5MP rear camera.
The phone becomes available in stores on Nov 17th. A special edition black-and-magenta version is available exclusively on-line.
