Technology

Amazon has added an AR part to its app, using Apple’s ARKit to let customers place various things in their house virtually before shopping for them. called AR view, customers will choose thousands of things like home decor, electronics, home office product, toys, and games, and place them in their home. using the tool, customers will overlay, move, and rotate the item in a live camera view mode to see how the item will fit and look in real time.

To launch the feature, open the Amazon app on your device, tap on the camera icon within the search bar, then tap AR view and choose a product. you use one finger to move the item and 2 to rotate. The feature is available on iPhone 6S devices and higher running iOS 11.

It’s not the 1st furniture-placing tool that’s launched recently: Ikea released one in Sep that also uses Apple’s ARKit, while Target launched its own AR feature through its mobile website, tho’ that application is a bit of a disaster.
